DILIJAN REST HOUSE

Simeron Enterprises Ltd. is currently involved in a rehabilitation project of a former health centre (sanatorium) built in the Soviet times in the town of Dilijan in Tavush Province, some 3 km away from the Dilijan-Ijevan highway. The center used to have a personnel of 110 people and accepted about 2400 guests annually.

Following the 1988 earthquake and the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, the health centre ceased to operate for nearly a decade. It was later privatized, and we are currently investing in the rehabilitation and further operation of the center.

Surrounded with a forest, this location is ideal for a rest house. The landscape and the historical and architectural monuments of the region such as the Goshavank and Haghartsin Monasteries offer a taste of nature and tradition in the countryside. In addition to this, the vast opportunities for the development of eco-tourism and agro-tourism, as well as the possibility of organizing hiking trips lay a solid foundation for the attraction of tourists to the region and for the perspective of running the former health centre as both a rest house and a hotel.

The health centre consists of 2 main residential four-storey buildings connected with an intermediary building. Also adjacent are other inter-connected buildings: a sports complex, dining and cinema facilities, garages and a laundry house.
